On the Issues
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that has.”
Margaret Mead
We deserve better.
Imagine a County Commission that truly represents us, the hardworking people who make our community thrive. One with leadership that genuinely understands what it means to put in a hard day's work, and that feels the same frustrations you do when the system just isn't working. That's the vision I bring to the table as I run for County Commissioner.
I'm not just running for office; I'm running to bring common-sense solutions and genuine compassion to our local government. Having spent more than half my life in the service industry, I understand what it means to serve others. My life in the working class has taught me more about community, struggle, and resilience than any political textbook ever could. I've been there, putting in the hours, living paycheck to paycheck, and seeing firsthand the incredible strength of ordinary people when we pull together.
Now, I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on the issues that matter most.
Taxes
“The truth about a city’s aspirations isn’t found in its vision, it’s found in its budget.”
Brent Toderian
Establishing a progressive tax structure so the burden isn't always on those who can least afford it. Why should billionaires get tax breaks on their corporate properties while hard working homeowners have their taxes raised? How can young adults achieve the American Dream of owning their own home with stagnant wages and unreasonable housing costs? Whether you’re a longtime homeowner or working hard to buy your first house, you deserve a fair shot.
Elections
“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision.”
Abraham Lincoln
Ensuring free and fair elections so every voice is heard and every vote counts. When we have election deniers being appointed to our Board of Elections, how are any of us supposed to trust that our votes matter? We deserve an election board we can trust to uphold our democracy, and elections that are properly staffed and well funded. Denying fair and free election results because you don’t like the outcome is not democracy; that's tyranny.
Justice
“Our capacity to destroy one another is matched by our capacity to heal one another. Restoring relationships and community is central to restoring well-being.”
Dr. Bessel van der Kolk
Tackling our broken justice system to create a community that’s safe and secure while offering long-term solutions to crime instead of short-sighted policies that help no one. Nearly half of our county budget goes towards our justice system and yet the Fulton County Jail remains overcrowded, understaffed, and rife with violence and unsafe living conditions. It’s past time we addressed this issue with the urgency it requires.
